by - Sunday, September 27, 2015

I woke up this morning, made myself a cuppa and logged in online to check my mails. And I saw the below image on Google's homepage, I decided to snoop in and found out that today is Google's 17th birthday whoop whoop.

Google is a a part of our lives, so it is worth celebrating today with its world success. We all live in a world of Google, think about it, Whatever you want to do nowadays, "you google it", you want to watch a movie online, "you YouTube it" (YouTube is owned by google), you want to go to a destination you've never been, "you google map it", you have a question to ask, "you google talk it".

Google was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were Ph.D. students at Stanford University. Together they own about 14 percent of its shares but control 56 percent of the stockholder voting power through supervoting stock. They incorporated Google as a privately held company on September 4, 1998.
Rapid growth since incorporation has triggered a chain of products, acquisitions and partnerships beyond Google's core search engine.
