Happy Breastfeeding Awareness Month,..

August is National Breastfeeding Awareness Month. The breastfeeding campaign, funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, hopes to empower women to commit to breastfeeding by highlighting new research showing that babies who are exclusively breastfed for six months are less likely to develop ear infections, diarrhea and respiratory illnesses, and may be less likely to develop childhood obesity.

I am in support of Breastfeeding until any age, my daughter is currently 14 months old and still breastfeeding and proud. The connection between us is beyond amazing and her energy level is on top of this world. Apart from that, the best decision I've ever made being a First time mum was to exclusively breastfeed her until 6 months and solids after that. It was so much easier and fun at the same time.

The World Breastfeeding Week 2016 theme is on raising awareness of the links between breastfeeding and the Sustainable Development Goals. By recognizing that breastfeeding is a key to sustainable development, we will value our well being from the start of life, respect each other and care for the world we share.

I also shared my view on Breastfeeding in Public here-

"Breastfeeding is not only the cornerstone of a child’s healthy development; it is also the foundation of a country’s development."- (source- WHO)
